Talk to Everyone and Everything About Race 2016

Performance and conversation project.

Presented at Art in Odd Places, New York, NY 2016 in collaboration with Amanda Leigh Evans, Lisa Jarrett, and Lauren Moran.

Talk to Everyone and Everything About Race is a socially engaged, co-authored conversation project that inserts the topic of race into everyday conversations and spaces by asking questions on the past, present, and future of race in the United States. Ultimately, the project is an attempt to normalize conversations about race in our daily routine. We had conversations at Union Square, The Highline, and along 14th street.

There are 25 different cards, and we handed them out to passerbys in order to invite spontaneous dialogue on the topic of race. Those who participate are given a full set of questions to continue the dialogue with others. The cards are blank on the back.
