Hug (2020)
Touch, curated by Des Bassil, Moisturizer Gallery, Gainesville, FL
If I did a project about the pandemic, it was this which started as a gesture on Instagram where I offered to send my friends a “hug.” The hugs were simply a photo of a small drawing I made of them as a hug. Des asked to include the project in a show about touch and the lack of touch during the pandemic. Myself and Nicole Miglis (batry power) performed on Instagram Live. She played beautiful music and I did live request drawings of hugs for whoever was watching.
I happened to be living in a cabin in rural Florida at the time, so the set up was a little weird.
One friend sent me a “hug” in return.
